Sure there’s something to be said for reusing (remember the three R’s?). Certainly the idea that what Americans toss out/waste can be used to say/show/discuss the American lifestyle/culture/capitalism. Art for the sake of commenting on a culture certainly has value, but sometimes people can be lazy artists, and sometimes you can try to say too much about something.
