I noticed a problem with this. I also had regular Gmail loading using the above exact steps. To get my google apps account loading, I had to edit the URL to remove the /mail/.. You have it as mail.google.com/mail/a/yoururl.com etc..

Whereas it should only be mail.google.com/a/yoururl.com etc.

When you go through step seven, do you see “Use Google Apps Mail” as an option for mailto in FIrefox’s preferences? Or do you just have one (or two) options in the drop-down for “Use Gmail”?

If that doesn’t help, you can start over. To delete the mailto option that you created, go into Firefox’s preferences, to Applications, and then click on mailto. Select the last option in the list, for”Application Details”. You can use the window that appears to remove the mailto link that you previously added, and then start over from the 4th step, above.

Be sure to pay special attention to the text in step four – you MUST change this text to get it to work for you.

Many thanks for post re teach FF 5.3 (on Mac, 10.5.8) use Google apps for mail. Bummer is followed exactly, got choice of Google Apps in FF prefs but every time I click a mailto link (couldn’t find one for you) it tries to open Gmail, not Apps. Any advice?

Very beautiful kid, btw. Enjoy each other for a long time.
